JK now fifth in the British Superbike Championship
The Buildbase BMW Motorrad team are celebrating the best-ever British Superbike results for BMW Motorrad following a stunning ride to fourth and fifth places by S 1000 RR riders James Westmoreland and Jon Kirkham.
Both riders looked set to deliver solid results in the second race, however it was twice interrupted by accidents which saw the pace car take to the track both times. Just as the race reached two-thirds distance, a serious incident led to it being red-flagged, seeing Kirkham finish eighth and Westmoreland ninth.

Qualifying sessions cancelled due to heavy rain and poor track conditions
The Buildbase BMW Motorrad team’s British Superbike riders will start tomorrow's first race at Thruxton from ninth and tenth places on the grid after today’s Qualifying sessions were cancelled due to heavy rain and poor track conditions. Jon Kirkham placed ninth with team mate James Westmoreland in tenth.
Race organisers first postponed, then cancelled, the sessions, with tomorrow’s first race now being started from combined Free Practice times instead.
